At Buckner Foundation, we seek to cultivate and manage relationships with current and prospective donors to secure and manage gifts that will support the restorative, healing and life enhancement ministries of Buckner International. To do that, we work creatively and aggressively to tell the story of Buckner in order to achieve greater awareness of Buckner's mission and project a positive image of Buckner among our various constituencies.
As the chief advancement team of Buckner, we support the nearly $100-million operating budget of Buckner International and its subsidiaries, Buckner Children and Family Services and Buckner Retirement Services. We also provide Buckner's fund-raising, public relations and marketing efforts, establish and build donor relationships, and
manage Foundation assets to support the ministries of Buckner.
 David Slover has served as President of Buckner Foundation since
January 2010, bringing a wealth of expertise to the position. He
previously served as executive vice president of Buckner Foundation.
Prior to that, he was senior director of development at Children's Medical
Center in Dallas where he directed the organization's successful
$150-million comprehensive campaign.
He earned his bachelor's degree and master of business administration degree from Baylor University in Waco and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He has served on the Baylor Alumni Association Board of Directors and Baylor Bear Foundation Board of Directors. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and National Committee on Planned Giving, having served as a past board member of the North Texas Chapter. He has also received accreditation as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CRFE) from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
David's philosophy for Buckner Foundation's existence is simple. "Buckner Foundation is a bridge. We are here to connect the passion of our donors to the needs of boys and girls, families and aging senior adults. We are here to help provide the hope and love of Christ to orphans, at-risk children, and families who have no hope for a better life – and connect them to people who want to do something for those children. Our Foundation staff has the privilege of connecting your passion with opportunities to do something to impact the life of someone in desperate need.
