In Beaumont, our ministries serve vulnerable children, families and seniors with resources and support to protect children, strengthen families, transform generations and serve seniors.

Through Buckner Foster Care and Adoption, the Ledet family had the support to foster and encourage more than 20 vulnerable children. And for Carey Augustin, she opened her home to three teenage sisters as a fictive kin placement after raising her own adult children and gave them a place to call home forever. Murray Anderson and Clement Mohr, both veterans, have experienced the joy of community and activity at Buckner Calder Woods.

Supporting moms, dads and children

Many of the most formative moments in a child's life happen in their first five years. That's why Buckner provides crucial parent educators for vulnerable families through Buckner HOPES. Through one-on-one sessions, parents learn best practices for raising children, setting the stage for young people to reach their God-given potential. For more information, call 409.200.2739.

Strengthening families in BeaumontThe Buckner Family and Youth Success (FAYS) program in Beaumont, formerly known as STAR, serves families with children ages 6 to 17, living in Jefferson, Orange and Hardin counties.

The Buckner FAYS program is funded through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Learn more about this free service here or call 409.861.0582.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, one in four children live without a father in the home. Children with involved dads have greater success in school, are less likely to do drugs and have fewer behavioral problems. Buckner offers the Fatherhood EFFECT program in Jefferson County. This program empowers and educates dads to engage in their children's lives and strengthen their families. Call 409.200.2739 to learn more.

Did you know the experiences a child has in their first five years can shape how their brain develops? Texas Home Visiting (THV) is available to families expecting a baby or who have a child up to age 5 in Jefferson County. THV is a free program to support positive child health and development outcomes, increase family self-sufficiency and create communities where children and families can thrive. Find out more.
